He is a hurricane Katrina rescue dog. They found him on the coast of Mississippi and he went thru processing and vetting in New Orleans. We were going to just foster him....

This is when we first got him, he was under 2 yrs old we think - maybe 1 to 1 1/2

and here's one of his goofy faces:

this is him now (below), much more mature looking at about 2 1/2 yrs old

the color is off, he is darker red now than the above picture shows, but not as dark as the below one looks

but he IS a very dark deep red - not a common color for pet goldens, even darker than the color that most goldens bred for hunting usually come in
